Hertsmere Borough Council are seeking a highly organised, team-focused individual to join their busy HR team. Working alongside the Administrator you will support the HR Advisers in delivering a comprehensive HR service, providing general employment law advice to staff and managers. The role is interesting and diverse covering all aspects of HR, with an emphasis on recruitment and the monitoring of sickness absence.
To be successful you should have previous experience within a similar role and in particular have a good knowledge of HR procedures and the associated legislation. You will ideally have gained a Certificate in Personnel Practice or hold CIPD membership, however this is not essential. The role will require excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing as you will be involved in induction training, composing correspondence, drawing up contracts, coordinating maternity leave, administering our staff awards schemes and undertaking project related tasks. You must have strong administration and excellent IT skills (Word, Excel and Access). You will have excellent attention to detail to enable you to produce and quality check complex data reports. Your organisational skills will be one of your key strengths and you will have the ability to work on your own initiative. The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
