This year, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, 70 years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 at only 25 years old.
Throughout 2022, Her Majesty and members of the Royal Family will travel around the country to undertake a variety of engagements to mark this historic occasion culminating with the focal point of the Platinum Jubilee, a specially extended bank holiday weekend in June providing the ideal opportunity for communities across the UK to come together and celebrate. We can’t wait!
Four days of official celebrations will include an array of events – from over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians Trooping the Colour to the lighting of beacons Nationwide (including here in Radlett), and from a special Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral to The Derby at Epsom Downs, a Platinum Party at the Palace aired on The BBC – and MUCH more! The entire Nation will be swept up in pride and excitement.
