| We Move She Moves sessions back this month! We Move, She Moves is a movement to get women and girls in Hertsmere more active, more often and having fun in the process. We have been able to restart face-to-face sessions, following Covid-secure guidelines to help make you feel as safe and comfortable as possible. Pilates incorporates slow and measured movements in order to work towards lean and stronger muscles. Pilates takes place in two different locations: Tuesdays, 8:15-9:15pm at Wyllyotts Theatre, Potters Bar for £5 a session. Fridays, 10:30-11:30am at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Borehamwood for £5 a session. There is no need to book, just turn up and pay as you go.
Aqua Zumba brings new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. It combines the South American Zumba rhythm and dance steps with a pool party. It offers a fun but challenging, water-based, body-toning workout. Aqua Zumba takes place in two different locations: Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30pm at The Venue Leisure Centre, Borehamwood, £5 per session. Thursdays, 9:30-10:30am at Furzefield Leisure Centre, Potters Bar, £5 per session. Pound is an exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using lightly weighted drumsticks you’ll be drumming along to music, so let loose while toning up and rockin’ out! Pound takes place (starting from Wednesday 22 September): Wednesdays, 6:30-7:15pm at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Borehamwood for £5 a session. Yoga will lengthen and strengthen your muscles while you reconnect your mind to your body. Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. Golden Dance Fit (Burlesque) is a one hour dance-based fitness class that combines dance and Burlesque routines with cardio fitness. The cardio brings your heart rate up and burns calories, and the Burlesque style movements and songs unleash the sexy, confident woman inside of you, whilst toning the muscles and getting a great workout. Golden Dance Fit is aimed at women over 50 of all fitness levels. Golden Dance takes place: Wednesdays, 2:45-3:45pm at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Borehamwood for £5 a session. Stroller Strength Bring your baby in a pram or stroller to this amazing one hour class where we will interchange between body conditioning exercises and power walking. This class is postnatal specific and will help you to regain tone and strength in your body. The best part is the baby gets the best seat in the house watching you get fit! Dance Aerobics is a group fitness class that incorporates different forms of dance. It’s a full body aerobic workout, divided into different tracks that provide the perfect soundtrack to the different intensity moves. Dance Aerobics offers a relaxed environment where you can really let your inhibitions go, work your whole body, learn some new moves and meet some great people along the way. Dance Aerobics takes place: Tuesdays, 12-1pm at King Charles the Martyr Church, Potters Bar for £5 a session. There is no need to book this class, just turn up and pay as you go.
Learn to Run trains people to be able to run 5k in just eight weeks. It is a course for total beginners and will teach you the key skills and techniques. During the first week you will only need to jog for 60 seconds at a time. The course starts on Thursday 23 September, 6:30-7:30pm meeting at Bushey Arena, London Road, Bushey, WD23 3AA.
