National period of mourning comes to an end

As the National period of mourning comes to an end our Union flag has returned to full mast. Today we have removed the Book of Condolence which is to be collated and bound. Thank you to all those who took the time to come and pay your respects.

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Councillors and Officers of Aldenham Parish Council are deeply saddened at the news of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with all members of the Royal Family at this time.

Meetings of the Council – The Full Council and Planning meetings due to take place on 12 & 19 September have been cancelled during the period of mourning.

State Funeral – The National Moment of Reflection will take place at 8pm on Sunday 18 September, the night before the State Funeral, and will be marked by a one-minute silence. The silence can be marked privately at home but if you would like to gather at the War Memorial, to pay your respects, you are more than welcome but no official service will be given by Aldenham Parish Council.

On the day of the funeral our offices will be closed, on Monday 19 September, to observe the national bank holiday in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral.
