Detailed Information

There is a full programme of games and matches from the end of April until the end of September. For a new bowler, this programme will be very confusing so here is a guide as to what the games are and how new bowlers can join in.

Introductory sessions, particularly for people who have never tried the sport before, are held every Sunday morning during May, just turn up with flat shoes at 9.45 am.

These morning sessions are open to all, anyone can join in, whether it is to brush up on technique or maybe to come along and assist with the coaching.

Informal games:

On many Monday evenings there are organised ‘fun’ games. Any member of any standard is welcome to come along and enjoy an informal and social game in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Friday afternoon league:

This is an internal triples league that runs throughout most of the season – all club members are eligible to play. Each team has a ‘pool’ of six or seven players who will each be selected to play on four or five Friday afternoons.

Club ‘Friendlies’:

These weekend and midweek games are the lifeblood of our club. Lists are put up in the pavilion well in advance of the match date ~ put your names down and you will be selected for some of the games.

‘I’m not good enough to play in club matches….’

Club coaches hear this all the time – let them be the judges of whether or not you are ‘good enough’, invariably the answer will be ‘how will you know unless you give it a go?’

Remember, we all have to start somewhere.
