Beat Eating Disorder

We know autistic people face extra barriers to support for eating disorders. So this Autism Acceptance Month, we’re asking autistic people with experience of eating disorders about their experiences.
What do we need from you? We’re gathering people’s thoughts through an anonymous survey, with a mix of multiple choice and open questions. We’ll ask you about your experiences with an eating disorder as an autistic person, as well as some demographic information. For open questions, you can add as much or as little information as you like. Your wellbeing comes first, so think about whether you’re in a good place to reflect on your experiences. Remember, you can skip any questions you don’t want to answer. Who can take part? We’d love to hear from anyone who’s either autistic themselves and has had an eating disorder, or has supported an autistic person with an eating disorder. Your experience might be happening now or have happened in the past. You don’t need a formal diagnosis of either autism or an eating disorder. What happens next? Your answers will help us report on eating disorder care for autistic people. They’ll help us make sure any recommendations we make to services about support for autistic people and their carers are informed by experts like you. Make your voice heard |

Healthwatch Hertfordshire
Healthwatch Hertfordshire are looking for people with learning disabilities to share their GP experiences and understand how services could be improved.
They are running one-to-one interviews for adults with learning disabilities who would like to share their views.
If you know someone that would like to take part, please contact Asha on Asha.mcdonagh@healthwatchhertfordshire.co.uk or call 07775 936104.
Here is a video explaining the project and how to get involved: https://www.healthwatchhertfordshire.co.uk/news/2023-02-21/we-want-hear-people-learning-disabilities.
The findings will be fed back to the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) to aid them in working with GP practices to ensure that adults with learning disabilities can access their GP practices and are supported by their GP to live a healthy lifestyle.
Nagler Simmons Radlett Rotary Fun Runs, Bank Holiday Monday 1 May 2023
Just a month to go, so here’s a reminder to get your entry in for this year’s fun runs, to be held on Bank Holiday Monday, 1 May.
Spring is here and it can’t rain forever (or can it?). I managed to get a run in yesterday, between showers! And by the time May comes, the sun will be shining.
So come on, do both yourself and our charities a favour by entering now for this event. Please. There will be inflatables there for the children and a BBQ available after the event.
Once again, I attach an entry form, and they can also be downloaded from our sponsor’s website, www.naglersimmons.co.uk.
Hoping to receive your entry in the near future & to see you there on 1 May – if you have any queries or comments in the mean time, or if you wish to unsubscribe to these emails, then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Thanking you for your support,
Regards,
