Shenley Hill/Newberries Development Proposal – Aldenham Parish Council (APC) Update
APC is working hard to stop the housing development that has been applied for on green belt land between Shenley Hill and Theobald Street. This application has now gone to Appeal to be determined by a Government Inspector.
Having been granted Rule 6 status at the Inquiry, our professional expert has been preparing the Statement of Case along with the Solicitor and Barrister who are acting on behalf of APC. We are pleased to have retained the services of the team who were successful in stopping the Harris Lane housing development in Shenley, which was also proposed to be built on green belt land.
APC will continue to up-date the community as and when more information is available to share.
Free Safe & Well Visit
A Safe & Well visit is where we are asked by the resident to attend their home at a time convenient for them to give them free fire safety advice. We check their smoke alarms to make sure they work and if they don’t, or are missing, we will fit a new one, again, free of charge. We also check plug socket adaptors, talk about escape routes and night time routines, candle and electric blanket safety, and if anyone we visit is particularly vulnerable or requires further support, we have the ability to refer them onto Hertfordshire Home Safer Services who can provide more equipment such as vibrating alarms or careline systems.
Alternatively residents can call the station on 01442 453002 to arrange a visit.
