Further protection for bungalows in Radlett as a result of the Radlett Neighbourhood Plan

New rules are being implemented by Hertsmere Borough Council to protect a number of bungalows across Radlett, which are deemed of value in the recently adopted Radlett Neighbourhood Plan. This follows recent changes in national legislation which allow for an extra storey to be built on homes, without the need for planning permission, as long as it complies with certain criteria.

Aldenham Reservoir footpath to stay open

RESERVOIR FOOTPATH SUCCESS!!

Borough Councillor Caroline Clapper is delighted to report some great news about Aldenham Country Park and Footpath Access. Following numerous discussions, we have (finally) reached formal agreement with the owners of the reservoir.

The footpath will now remain FULLY OPEN and the owners will not be allowed to erect any further fencing, and this is a binding agreement. This is one of the best solutions we could have reached, and stops the threat of closing the footpath again, or fencing off the reservoir altogether.
The gates will likely remain in situ for the next couple of months, but they now have to be permanently removed by the end of December 2022, and until then, they will be UNLOCKED at all times.
This is a fantastic win for the users of the Reservoir footpaths and I’d like to thank the County Council for all their hard work on this, as well as Cllr Jeremy Newmark who has supported this ‘All Party’ motion with me, that has lead to this positive outcome!

It’s World Autism Acceptance Week (28 March – 3 April)

While many people are now aware of Autism, there is still so much to do to help people really understand the condition, how it can impact people’s lives and how we can work together to create a society that is inclusive for people with Autism.

Hertfordshire Local Offer provides information, advice and can help you find services and support available in #Herts visit

https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/…/The-Hertfordshire…

Autistic young people want to be more accepted by society, which is why this year we are focusing on autism acceptance.

One autistic young person said: “Autism isn’t a disease that people should be made aware about. It’s a difference that society should accommodate.”

Throughout this week we will be standing with autistic children and young people as they call for greater acceptance.

Young people will also be breaking down some common myths about autism and sharing some facts to increase an informed understanding.

Show your support by downloading our resources and tell your friends, family and colleagues why you are standing with autistic children and young people! https://bit.ly/3CY8W16
